Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, Shurijo Castle Park reopen
As no new corona virus cases have emerged in Okinawa, officials at the Okinawa Ocean Expo park announced that the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium reopens on Monday, Mar. 16th although some programs continue to be canceled. Besides the Aquarium, the Sea turtle building, stands around the aquarium, Rest House, Manatee Hall, general rest area Churaumi Plaza and the Restaurants around the aquarium will open.
However, the temporary closure of some facilities in the park would continue through Monday, Mar. 22nd. The facilities reopening from Monday, Mar. 23rd include the Oceanic Culture Museum, Tropical Dream Center, the open space & Setting Sun rest house, General bureau (Haisai Plaza), Kids’ Adventure Land, Aqua Town, and electric sightseeing cars are scheduled to resume operations from Monday, Mar. 23rd.
Churaumi Flower Festival and scheduled Pelargonium and Germanium exhibitions will resume from Mar. 23.
The Ocean Expo Park relay marathon, bodypainting, Oceanian dress experience, and Okinawan performing arts events are canceled.

The Shurijo castle will also reopen to the public, except the use of seating in the park will stay suspended until Sunday, Mar. 22. Officials at the park advise people planning to visit the park to check the park’s official website for the latest information.
