Celebrating 20 years since its opening in 2005, the Kouri Bridge connects the untouched beauty of Kouri Island to Okinawa’s main island across a stunning 1,960-meter span. Renowned as a scenic drive with breathtaking views of emerald-green seas on both sides, the bridge remains a favorite among visitors.

To mark its 20th anniversary, a commemorative event will be held starting at noon. A celebration ceremony will take place at the Kouri Community Center, while the special venue at “Sorahashi” (Kouri Island Friendship Plaza) will host live performances and entertainment from 13:30 and continuing throughout the day, featuring a lineup of Okinawan artists. The festivities will culminate in a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the night sky at 20:00.

Visitors are encouraged to take a leisurely drive and join the celebration on Kouri Island for a day filled with music, culture, and natural beauty.
