Kuroshima Island, with a population of 200 residents and several thousand cows, hosts an annual cow festival with the goal of promoting the island’s farming culture.

The festival features gourmet delights including roasted Ishigaki Beef, one of the premium wagyu beef brands in Japan, and delicious hot beef soup, popular among locals and visitors alike.

Other highlights of the festival are beef-related quizzes and a drawing for a cow.
