Facing the Pacific, the Uken Beach is well equipped with changing rooms and shower facilities and offers a wide variety of marine sports. Even though this is an artificial beach, visitors can enjoy the viewing of sea turtle hatching. The name of the beach has been used by HY, a popular Japanese band from Uruma City, as the title for one of their songs (“Uken Beach”).
